Leonard Bellavia - Bellavia & Gentile
Bellavia became an attorney in order to provide the family's car dealership business with competent legal service. Today he is general counsel to about 600 of New York's 1,200 car dealerships. He represents the dealerships in transactional activities and in litigation against manufacturers.

Bellavia, founding partner of the Mineola law firm of Bellavia, Gentile & Associates, also helps clients land dealership franchises.

 

Rick Hersey, - GE Commercial Distribution Finance
Rick Hersey is the ACFC Leader for the CDF Marine Business, focused on bringing GE's ACFC (At the Customer, For the Customer) initiative to the marine industry. Hersey has 32 years of experience working for such businesses as GE Transportation (Rail), GE Energy (Nuclear) and GE Commercial Finance.

Hersey earned a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from Bucknell University in Pennsylvania. He is a GE-certified Six Sigma green belt and black belt.

 

John Lane - Paul Cummings World Wide Enterprise
John has worked in the automotive industry for sixteen years and has a proven track record of high achievement in all areas of the dealership. John also has a keen interest in recreational boating and in particular knee boarding. Over the past thirteen years, John has won 5 straight National Championships and seven gold medals in knee boarding which resulted him being named captain of the US Ryder Cup Team for 2004. John and his team won the 2004 Ryder Cup.

 

Norm Schultz
Schultz held the position of president of the Lake Erie MTA from 1973 to 2006. He has founded and still manages several Midwest retail boat shows including the Cleveland Mid-America Boat Show, North American In-Water Boat Show and the Michigan City Boat Show.

 

Larry Winget
Larry, a 2002 member of the National Speakers Association Speakers Hall of Fame, is the author of several books, videos and audiotape series. His most recent book Shut Up, Stop Wining & Get a Life: A Kick-Butt Approach to a Better Life, reached number one on the Wall Street Journal business books list. It was released in August 2004.

 

Joe Verde - Joe Verde Group
Joe Verde, president of the Joe Verde Group, has been in the car business since 1973 as a salesperson, manager, and dealer principal. In 1985 he founded the Joe Verde Group and has become one of the leading experts in dealership management and sales training for the automotive industry.

 

Robert Williams - Five Star Marketing Group
Williams, Five Star Marketing Group President, is implementing the Marine Industry Dealership Certification program. Bob has extensive experience in this area as one of the creators of Chrysler's Five Star initiative while he held the position of Directors of Retail Strategies and National Dealer Relations for the Chrysler Group.

Brian Norman - Norman Spencer McKernan Agency
Brian is a 1997 graduate of Indiana University's Kelley School of Business with degrees in Finance and International Studies. While with General Electric's Financial Management Program it allowed him to progress through multiple positions in Finance, Accounting, Marketing, and Strategic Planning.

In 1999, Brian joined Norman-Spencer-McKernan as Director of Finance and has cycled through the areas of agency operations, sales, marketing, underwriting, and program management. In 2005, Brian was named Vice President of Marketing and continues to operate in this capacity.

 

Dr. George Watts
Dr. Watts is an accomplished business leader with an excellent blend of executive leadership and senior level consulting to many of the top corporations in the US. He has twenty-five years experience building top sales teams through teaching behavioral interviewing and using assessment for sales selection. Additionally, he was a CEO of a 300 million dollar outsourcing company.

Robert Rehban
Robert J. Rebhan is a nationally renowned expert and speaker on identity theft and financial crimes and a former Detective Sergeant with the Los Angeles Police Department.

Rebhan was selected by Credit Card Industry to help develop and direct a fraud prevention program. He served as the Director of the American Express Company's Fraud Prevention Program, Western Region. He has extensive experience with state and local government. Rebhan is also a special consultant to Screen Actors Guild members and is a member of the International Association of Financial Crimes Investigators, as well as the Electronic Crimes Task force led by the United States Secret Service.

 

M. Mark Leonard - Trailer Manufacturers Association
Mark Leonard specializes in the investigation and analysis of motor vehicle crashes, analysis of vehicle components and systems, combination vehicle dynamics and testing. He has expertise in a wide variety of vehicle testing, including hitch systems, trailer and trailer component design, trailer braking and user instructions. Mark is familiar with the Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards, the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations, and the testing performed to evaluate compliance.

Prior to creating Vehicle Sciences, Inc., Mark was a Senior Manageing Engineer with Exponent at its Test and Engineering Center. Prior to Exponent, he worked in the Engineering Services Department at U-Haul International as well as for Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company. consulting firm that specializes in sales assessments. He also hosts a popular weekly radio show in Chicago "The Business Doctor" on WCPT AM 850.

 

Steve Tadd - National Marine Manufacturers Association
Steve Tadd may best be known for his many years as the boating industry's "Boating Guy." Steve began his boating industry career in the late 1990's with BOAT/US. As the Director of the Discover Boating Program from 2001 to 2005, Steve handled a great deal of the industry's outreach efforts, including hundreds of Discover Boating events and the creation of the Discover Boating Mobile Marketing Tour. Steve was promoted to Grow Boating Director. His main responsibilities now include funding, governance, strategic planning and industry communications centering around the boating industry's Grow Boating Initiative.
