Norman-Spencer Marine Insurance renews as Marine Retail University title sponsor

MINNEAPOLIS — The Marine Retailers Association of the Americas and Dominion Marine Media announced today that Norman-Spencer Marine Insurance has renewed its commitment as the title sponsor of the Marine Retail University.

Norman-Spencer Marine Insurance signed on immediately following the launch of the Marine Retail University event series in November 2011. Under its original contract, Norman-Spencer supported each of the four MRU events in 2012, the first event in 2013, and will also support the sixth MRU event, to be held in Albany, N.Y., on March 6th. Norman-Spencer has renewed its support for the remainder of the 2013 MRU event series.

"Norman-Spencer has been an incredible partner for us as we have launched and taken MRU to unexpected heights over the last year and a half,” says Matt Gruhn, MRAA President. "They have believed in the mission of the MRU series from the moment we first mentioned it, and they are a part of the foundation we have built, as we now look to expand the reach of the MRU series.”

The Norman-Spencer Marine Retail University event series was originally designed to host about 50 attendees in four regional stops across the country. Those four events quickly became six, as two events were added in early 2013. Having made stops in San Antonio, Texas; Orlando, Fla.; Lansing, Mich.; Portland, Maine; and Boston, Mass.; the MRU events have averaged more than 65 attendees over these first five stops. Four additional MRU events are already in the plans for 2013.

"The content of material presented at the MRU leaves attendees with valuable tools they need in order to make well educated business decisions as well as providing them with the opportunity to network with their peers.
