Norman-Spencer Pays $12k in Bonuses to Certified Dealers

The swelling roster of North American boat retailers completing the Marine Industry Certified Dealership Program (MICD) can now add cold, hard cash to their benefit bundle.
Becoming a Five Star Marine Industry Certified Dealership unlocks several exclusive perks, including a reward available for the first time in 2015, which returns a bonus credit to policyholders if no insurance claims are filed during the fiscal year. Five dealerships qualified for a no claims bonus of up to 10 percent of their premium during the program’s pilot run, and each were recognized in front of their peers during a recent luncheon taking place as part of the 2015 Marine Dealer Conference and Expo (MDCE) in Orlando.
The following dealerships combined to rake in more than $12,000 in no claims bonus checks, which were distributed by Norman-Spencer Insurance and CNA Insurance:
· Advantage Yacht Sales
· Colorado Boat Center
· Mt. Dora Boating Center
· Sea Ray of Cincinnati
· Texas Marine
“Most folks pay their insurance premiums and never hear a word from their agent unless there is some sort of problem,” said Mark Yearn, a marine insurance specialist with Norman-Spencer Agency. “Well, we want to change that formula. Conducting business in a safe, responsible manner deserves recognition, and we’re more than happy to show that to our customers through these no claims bonus checks.”
Sonja Moseley, Director of Certification and Benefits at MRAA, predicts payouts will double next year.
“Dealers who earn Five Star MICD status represent the best our industry has to offer,” Sonja said. “Each has completed comprehensive curriculums focusing on customer service, operational excellence and superior performance. Becoming a Five Star Marine Industry Certified Dealership demonstrates a tangible commitment to quality, and having five dealers earn no claims bonus checks in the first year of availability illustrates the kind of top-shelf leadership we see each and every day.”
Additional benefits enjoyed by dealers reaching MICD status include a comprehensive review of business operations, a reimbursement credit of up to $750 toward MICD completion, insurance enhancements to cover dealer operations and added support from a growing list of manufacturers.
