BOCA GRANDE, Fla. – The Marine Retailers Association of the Americas and Dominion Marine Media announced today that Norman-Spencer has signed on as the title sponsor of the Marine Retail University dealer educational event series.

The MRU events, which are co-produced by the MRAA and Dominion Marine Media, are being scheduled regionally across the United States. The focus of these one-day educational programs is to educate dealers on the sales and performance data and trends from their market areas and to provide them with insights into how they can capitalize on that information to make their businesses more profitable.

"We are excited to have Norman-Spencer as the title sponsor for the Marine Retail University program. Their participation reinforces the value of dealer education, sharing up-to-date data, trends and insights on the business of marine retailing,” says Courtney Chalmers, director of marketing for Dominion Marine Media. "The program offers sponsors and exhibitors a fresh opportunity to connect with those dealers on a regional basis. Along with the MRAA, we’re thrilled to be able to extend such opportunities out to dealers across the United States.”

Norman-Spencer, a long-time supporter of the MRAA, has expanded its support of the dealer body through this partnership. And Mark Yearn, National Program Director for Norman-Spencer says that his company wanted to support the Marine Retail University event series because it will provide more dealers an opportunity to attend valuable training sessions in addition to helping them operate their businesses more efficiently and effectively.

"Dealer training, continuing education and networking amongst your peers are critical to the success of any business in today’s environment,” Yearn says. "We believe that to be true in our own business and feel that through this program, the industry will grow and develop to meet the demands of the consumer. We are excited to be involved in the Marine Retail University program and look forward to adding value to the attendees by assisting them in lowering their overhead and in cultivating new ideas that will provide additional revenue streams to their businesses.”

The dates of the MRU events for 2012 will be announced in the coming weeks.

"As we continue to build this very exciting event series, we’re excited to have the support from such a major player in the marine retailing insurance sector,” says Matt Gruhn, president of the MRAA. "We look forward to working closely with Norman-Spencer to increase opportunities for marine dealers across the country through the MRU program and the many other programs we offer.”
