Why We Exist
At the Marine Retailers Association of the Americas, we believe that for the marine industry to thrive, the companies that interact with the boater in their community must thrive. Those businesses determine the boater’s experience and are the leading factor in the industry’s success. The Marine Retailers Association of the Americas works to create a strong and healthy boating industry by uniting those businesses, providing them with opportunities for improvement and growth, and representing them with a powerful voice.

Mission Statement:

Our mission is to be the single voice of marine retailers, providing member services that include: fostering and uniting relationships; raising awareness and professionalism; protecting common interests and strengthening all members.

The MRAA has been looking out for the best interests of marine retailers and the boating public since 1972. The association is comprised of boat dealers, marine parts and accessories vendors, marina operators, boatyards, marine service providers, and all those whose livelihood is affected by the marine industry. MRAA is the definitive resource for marine retailers to stay informed on what is happening in the marine industry and help them grow and prosper in their operations. The MRAA Board of Directors is made up of active marine retailers who understand that in the marine business, change can occur very quickly, and they work hard to put the interest of marine retailers first in an effort to better the industry for us all. This is well outlined through our Mission and Values statements.

Our Values:

  • Accountability: We stand behind our commitment to create a strong and healthy boating industry, providing dealers with opportunities for improvement and growth and representing them with a powerful voice. We stand behind our mission and our values, and our guarantee to deliver an ROI for our members and partners.

The Marine Retailers Association of the Americas enjoys the membership and support of not only marine retailers, but also many Associate and Partner Members who offer products and programs that help retailers continuously improve their businesses. Through MRAA membership, Retail, Associate and Partner Members gain access to the community of fellow members, a voice in Washington, D.C., and many programs, services, and products specifically tailored to our industry.

As a retailer working in this industry, you know that the best solution to secure a healthy future for your business is to be proactive, rather than reactive. MRAA provides the timely information and tools your dealership requires to ensure a bright tomorrow.

Still not convinced? There are a number of reasons why today's marine retailers should belong to the Marine Retailers Association of the Americas.

Be involved with like-minded business people
The MRAA is comprised solely of those who depend on the marine industry for their livelihood. Our board is made up of dealers who are working hard to look out for the best interests of their fellow retailers. As those involved in any group of any kind will know, there is strength in numbers especially when those numbers come together to comprise a network for thriving marine retailers. The Marine Industry Certified Dealership (MICD) Program is one such network.

Be part of a United Voice

MRAA has a commanding presence on Capitol Hill, protecting the interests of its members. Many of today's most affirmative marine-related laws and policies lead back to the MRAA's leadership in Washington through the work of Larry Innis. Larry is the nation's leading authority and activist representing the MRAA and its members. For more than 20 years, Larry has tirelessly stood for constructive changes that affect the marine business as well as acting as a communication vessel between the MRAA and Washington. The far-reaching representation continues to put the concerns of marine operators in the forefront of the nation's lawmakers, as well as keeping MRAA members informed of changes and impending issues. And we need your support, both for direction on the individual issues and for funding the efforts in D.C. Learn more about Larry Innis.

MRAA Rewards Program: For Members ONLY
The MRAA's ultimate mission is to help its members run stronger businesses, through benefits that create operational efficiencies and financial strength. And with that in mind, the MRAA works hard to design programs, through the MRAA Rewards Program, that will help dealers cut costs, generate revenues, educate their employees and improve dealership performance. in order to better run their operations. While retail membership is only $300, many of our benefits will return more than $300 in value. In fact, the average dealer who enrolls in our shipping and freight program saves more than $324 per year. Click on any of the links in this paragraph to see more details on these benefits; and if there's a benefit you'd like to see the MRAA offer, by all means, let us know by clicking the Contact Us button up at the top of this page.
