A Letter from the Foundation's President

In 2004, MRAA recognized the need to look to the future in the area of workforce development. The MRAA Board founded the MRAA Educational Foundation to provide financial support for education, training, and professional development in the recreational marine trades.

Since then, the Foundation has provided scholarships to scores of our workers, including sales, service, and business management personnel. The Trustees of the Foundation continually seek to improve on our mission and to serve an increasing amount of our workforce, as evidenced by the growing number of scholarships we offer the industry.

One of the key areas the trustees are currently focusing on us the lack of available qualified marine technicians to serve the boating public. The MRAA Workforce Assessment Survey conducted earlier this year is providing valuable guidance for Foundation Trustees in furthering the mission. Stay tuned to this newsletter for more details on how this is guiding our efforts.

Further, we would love to have YOUR input as to how we might better serve our industry.
