The Bombardier Recreational Products (BRP) family of brands is a world leader in the design, development, manufacturing and distribution of motorized recreational vehicles and engines due in large part to a culture of creative thinking that has produced a number of innovations and award-winning technologies. BRP’s portfolio of brands and products includes: Evinrudeoutboard engines; Sea‑Doo watercraft; Ski-Doo and Lynx snowmobiles; Can-Am all‑terrain and side-by-side vehicles and roadsters, as well as Rotax engines. In short, BRP is one family with six powerful brands that are distributed by a dealer and distributor network in more than 100 countries. BRP employs more than 6,500 people worldwide.

Recognized as one of the marine industry’s most iconic brands, Evinrude is steeped in tradition yet focused on continued growth and innovation. The brand is responsible for the invention of the first outboard engine, as well as the development of the Evinrude E-TEC, a next-generation outboard that revolutionized 2-stroke technology.

For Evinrude, being a division of BRP means collaboration – the ability to incorporate best practices, tap engineering expertise and adapt the patents and proprietary technology found across all BRP brands. For consumers, these synergies culminate in the world’s finest outboard, the Evinrude E-TEC, which now includes 98 engine models from 15- to 300-hp.

To maintain its reputation for superior quality, a key initiative at BRP is to focus on the development of technology that’s consistently more powerful, more efficient and more environmentally friendly. The Evinrude E-TEC engines lead the industry in emission standards – no other brand of outboard produces fewer reportable emissions. BRP was the first marine manufacturer to receive the EPA Clean Air Technology Excellence Award for its Evinrude E-TEC outboards.

"BRP takes great pride in the power and reliability found in each of our Evinrude engines," said Karl Sandstrom, Product Manager for BRP’s Outboard Engine division. "To pack all of that performance into an outboard that is cleaner, quieter and more eco-friendly is truly a special achievement."

BRP’s Sea-Doo award-winning watercraft line-up includes an extensive range of models that set industry benchmarks in each segment and meet and exceed every consumer desire in performance, commodity, rider comfort and peace of mind. Sea-Doo watercraft have won multiple awards recently including five National Marine Manufacturer’s (NMMA) awards in the past four years in the personal watercraft, jet boat and pontoon category.

BRP’s coined "iControl” technology was only available on the premium Sea-Doo models a few years ago but is now available in every category in the line making premium technologies available at a value minded price. "iControl” is the umbrella term BRP uses that includes the iBR system iS (intelligent Suspension) system and the iTC (Intelligent Throttle Control) system. The advanced iTC system includes many power delivery modes, highlighted by the award winning Sea-Doo ECO mode that provides up to 46 percent improved fuel consumption.

"The most unique benefit to the rider is the intelligent Brake & Reverse system (iBR) giving the rider more control than they have ever had on the water,” said Julie Tourville, marketing director for BRP Sea-Doo. "BRP with the Sea-Doo brand continues to provide customers with the best value and latest technological innovations on the market.”

"BRP has a culture of continual product improvement,” says Steve Laham, North American vice president of sales, marketing and after-sales for Evinrude. "We want to ensure that our customers have a lifetime of unique experiences with an increasing number of superior quality products. BRP innovations help dealers sell products and enable consumers to use their boats and watercraft more effectively and efficiently.”

A longtime supporter of the MRAA and its dealers, BRP has signed on at the highest sponsorship level because a strong and professional dealer network helps grow the recreational boating industry.

"As supporters of the MRAA, we value the opportunity to work with and recognize dealers that have made a serious commitment to the industry,” said Andre Parent, director of sales for BRP’s outboard engine division. "We are committed to investing in the success of our dealer network and providing them with the best performing and innovative engines on the water.”
