Marine Industry Certified Dealership Benefits

The largest benefit of Certification is the results you will see in your business performance. According to the most recent data collected from the NMMA's CSI Program, Certified Dealerships had higher CSI scores than non-Certified. Also, data from the Baird/MRAA Dealer Pulse Reports indicates that Certified Dealers outperform non-Certified dealers in a number of areas, including annual revenue, new boat demand, new and used retail, inventory levels and access to credit. Certified Dealers gain access to a compilation of industry best practices in an exclusive, 100-plus-page publication entitled "The Best Practices Navigator."

CNA Insurance Benefits and Loss-Free Dividends
Marine Industry Certified Dealerships that have business insurance through CNA are eligible for extra discounts and participation in the Loss-Free Dividend Program for dealerships at the Five Star MICD level. Contact Mark Yearn for more information.
Consumer Marketing
Achieving certified dealer status requires a commitment to going above and beyond standard requirements, and we have placed a renewed emphasis on educating potential buyers on the benefits of purchasing from a MICD team. For example, the MICD Program partnered with Bonnier Corporation to launch a year-long consumer marketing campaign in Boating Magazine; elements included several custom emails to Boating Magazine subscribers, display advertising, custom content and a full-page color ad — all discussing the benefits of doing business with a Certified Dealership. 

CPYB Certification Discount
Sales personnel at Marine Industry Certified Dealerships are eligible to become Certified Professional Yacht Brokers at a total savings of $550 per applicant. For more information, contact CPYB program manager Colleen McDonough.

Customer Assurance
A recent survey confirmed customers look for more than just a great deal; they look for assurance. Seventy-nine percent of respondents indicated that, given the same product and pricing, they would be more likely to purchase a boat from a Certified Dealership than from a non-Certified dealership.
Discover Boating
Discover Boating allows your dealership to be a part of a strong and focused industry initiative and gives your business the opportunity to share in the benefits from our national advertising and outreach. As a Certified Dealer, your dealership is listed on in the Certified Dealers section, with a live link to your businesses website. When a consumer visits our site and clicks thru to yours, this action is called a ‘web referral’, which is like digital version of a recommendation. Our research shows that this is the preferred route of a consumer to discovering a dealer in their area and we have created a platform to make it easy for them to find you.
Exclusive Ads and Content
As a Certified Dealership, you have access to exclusive content, tools and benefits developed specifically for MICDs. We developed the MICD Portal to deliver the most up-to-date resources available for Certified Dealerships.
MICD Logos
Place the MICD logo on everything you produce: Dealership website, advertising of all types, company brochures, window clings plastered throughout the showroom and service area, and the shirts of salespeople on the dealership floor.
MRAA Member Discount
MRAA members receive discounts on the MICD program ($100 off of initial Certification) and have access to bundle and save by combining membership and enrollment in Continuous Certification by investing in Gold membership
Manufacturer Support
Manufacturer support continues to grow for Certified Dealerships, ranging from co-op funds to reimbursement and more. Supporters include Brunswick (Sea Ray and Boston Whaler), Nautic Global Group, Pursuit Boats, Regal and Tracker Marine Group.

NMMA Boat Show Recognition
All Marine Industry Certified Dealerships will be recognized at any NMMA boat show in which they participate. Certified Dealerships will also be recognized in show directories in shows that have 5 or more Marine Industry Certified Dealerships represented. As an additional benefit, FIVE STAR MARINE INDUSTRY CERTIFIED DEALERS WILL RECEIVE 50 COMPLIMENTARY TICKETS. In order to qualify for these complimentary tickets, you must either be a contracted exhibitor in the show(s) or a dealer working the show with your contracted manufacturer.  Once this information is confirmed, the tickets will be mailed to your attention automatically prior to the show opening .
